HOUSTON, TX — The play-by-play booth is officially locked in for the Houston Bulls’ inaugural 2026–2027 season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), with sports broadcaster Ben Canvasser named as the organization’s lead play-by-play voice and content host.
Canvasser steps into the booth with a rich multi-sport commentary portfolio. A 2019 alumnus of the University of Michigan, his calling of hockey includes two seasons in the ACHA’s Big Mountain Hockey Conference—highlighted by his tenure as the primary play-by-play voice for the University of Denver’s ACHA program.
His broader sports media background features roles across arena football and elite soccer. Canvasser worked as a broadcast contributor for the Colorado Spartans of the National Arena League (NAL)—where he handled public address duties, studio show hosting, and color commentary—and has extensive play-by-play experience across USL League Two, the USL W League, USL Academy, and the Mountain Premier League (MPL).
In addition to calling live game action, fans can look forward to his post-game ice-level interviews, a brand-new weekly Houston Bulls podcast, and regular behind-the-scenes multimedia features highlighting players and coaching staff.
